Alta Thalia Veasley, was born July 15, 1954, to the parentage of Joe Louis Green & Annette Grant Green, the eldest (firstborn to this union) in Mount Pleasant, TX. She fell in love and married Leroy C. Veasley. To this union, one child, a son named Gerrick Sherrod Green-Veasley, was born. She later gave birth to son, Gerren Miles Crosson.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1972. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston in 1979. She loved and collected porcelain dolls, fine dishes, arts, and had a passion for all things beautiful. She was a retired cosmetologist/beautician and an educator/school teacher. She was a loving, doting, and proud grandmother.

Alta is preceded in death by husband Leroy C. Veasley, two sibling: Robert Louis Taylor III, and Bruce Traylor, parents Joe Louis Green & Annette Green Taylor; Uncle Billy C. Grant, Aunt Leuna Henry and Grandparents RT & Frankie Grant.

She is survived by her sons Gerrick Sherrod Green-Veasley (LaQuinta) and Gerren Miles Crosson; Siblings: Sharon K. Green of Houston, TX, Judith L. Green of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Jacqueline Green Bradley of Rowlett, TX, Martin C. Green of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Victor T. Taylor of Texarkana, TX, Sharise S. Peoples of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Marcus C. Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Tawny Hamilton of Atlanta, GA.; grandchildren Keterian (Traylor) Green, Alexander Veasley and Evelyn Green; 1 great-grand child/great-grandson Hendrix Drew (Traylor) Green – Uncle Cicero Green of Inglewood CA, Aunt Yvonne Lewis of Daingerfield TX, Uncle Howard Grant of Houston, TX; a host of family member and friends.

Alta will forever be remembered for her warmth, love, and the legacy she leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew her.
