On August 23, 1963, A beautiful baby girl Anita "Diane" Lee was born in Dallas, Texas to Arlandus and Lovie Lee. The 1st born of four children. Being raised in a God fearing home, she was baptized at the age of 12 at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. C. McNeil. At the early age she was active in many ministries of the church, starting as the Sunday School Secretary, Youth Choir and Jr. Mission. Later she joined the Calvary Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. H. Moore Jr., where she started working and serving faithfully on the Usher Board as Secretary/Treasury. Diane loved her youth department at CPMBC. She was very active with them, being a strong youth sponsor, starting the youth usher board, youth Sunday School teacher. Even though she was never blessed with children of her own, she loved her babies at the CPMBC Youth Department dearly.
Diane attended O.W. Holmes Middle School and Franklin D. Roosevelt School. After finishing high school, she went on to study a classes at Draugh's Business College and El Centro College for Business.
Diane always loved to help people, she started her career with Professional Care Nursing Home, then went on to Parkland Health & Hospital system where she started in Dietary Department and worked her way up to the Radiology Department as a Radiology Assistant for 22years. She was loved by so many in the years that she was there. She will truly be missed by her family in CT. She enjoyed her work and that spilled into her relationships throughout Parkland. She was known for her positive, can-do attitude. The smile was contagious.
After not having any children of her own, she definitely had a hand in raising all of her nieces and nephews, and raising them she did! She didn't spare the rod. She said what she meant and meant what she said. Firm she was! Katelynn Jordan was her baby. They argued and fussed but when she said enough is enough, that's just what she meant.
Diane was proceeded in death by her father, Arlandus Lee, maternal grandparents, Lee & Rosie McNeil and paternal grandparent, Cornelius Lee and Arelia Bonner.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her beautiful mother, Lovie Lee, brothers: Royland (Cynthia) Lee, Cornelius Lee and her only baby sister that loved her until the end, Kelly Lee.
