Artice Carol Johnson was born on November 10, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to the late T. L. and Nellia D. Brown. Artice peacefully transitioned from labor to reward at her home on August 18, 2023.

She attended Booker T. Washington School. She worked at El Patio, Pilgrim's Pride, Lone Star Steel, and Mt. Pleasant Independent School District as a Substitute Cook. Artice also cooked many years for the Pittsburg Athletic Booster Club and for her neighborhood community.

Artice was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren Kirk Jackson and De Travisa Johnson, one great grandchild Kaleb Ridley; three sisters Ora Dean Minter, Josephine Dudley, and Authur Mae Walker; two brothers J. L. Morgan and T. L. Brown Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories of 53 years her husband Frank James Johnson Jr.; eleven daughters Carolyn (Earl) Burris, Rosella (Craig) Jackson, Peggy (Robert) Godbolt, Nancy (Johnnie) Taylor, Shelia (Kerry) Minter, Tracey (Kelvin) Nesbitt, Yolanda (Barry) Dillard, Mattie (Edward) Washington, and Felecia Johnson all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Stacey (Roscoe) Allen of Pittsburg, Texas; and Diane Sneed of Dallas, Texas; one son Silvester (Yvette) Johnson of Dallas, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; her sisters Beverly Curtis, Frances Brown, Mattie Standberry all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Georgia Adair and Linda Bell both of Dallas, Texas; one brother Rayford Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two uncles Rev. John (Angela) Brooks of Pittsburg, Texas and Willie Jean Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a special nephew La Vaughander Minter of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
