Mr. Artie L. Wright, son of the late Artist Wright and Essie White was born July 30, 1937 inPittsburg, TX. He attended and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School in Pittsburg,TX. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Stephen AME Church where he wasa member until he joined the United States Armed Forces. He was a faithful and diligentmember of the United States Army for over 30 years.He found his life companion in a young lady named Rosa Nell Curlin. They were marriedApril 28, 1972 and was blessed with a daughter, Patricia Ann Duffie and son Willie JamesCurlin. They made a home for their family in Saint Robert, MO and was an active memberand deacon of First Baptist Church of Saint Robert. He was a participating and dedicatedmember of the American Legion and the 40 and 8. He was a quiet, humble man who lovedhis family and country, soft spoken and never complained. Throughout his career, hereceived many military awards and honors. He also received his college degrees inDecember of 1988, from Central Texas College, which he was most proud.He departed this life Saturday, June 16, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by hissister, Naomi Asberry. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife Rosa, to whom hiswas married to for 46 years.His life will be cherished in the lives of his children: Patricia Duffie (Howard) of Pittsburg, TXand Willie Curlin (Barbara) of Atlanta, GA.; his siblings, Brothers: Arvist Wright (Elizabeth) ofPittsburg TX, Charlie Ray Wright (Michelle) of Pittsburg, TX, Willie James Wright (Emily) ofPittsburg, TX, Louis Lee Ladd of Simi Valley, California, Sisters: Vinnie C. Due of SantaClara, California, Charlene Williams of Dallas, TX; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren,devoted family members and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
