Buelah Atchison Minter

Our beloved, Buelah Atchison Minter went home to be with Jesus on Friday, December 9, 2022. She was 78 years old.

Buelah Atchison Minter was born to Cora Lee (Simmons) and Rev. Tilman Atchison in Mount Pleasant, Texas; where she grew up with her siblings. She attended Booker T. Washington High School. Afterwards, she married Jearl Dean Minter; they had two sons (Ricky Nelson Atchison and Kerry Glenn Minter) and two daughters (Bulinda Roney and Deloris Reynolds).

In the early 1990s, Buelah moved to Dallas, Texas, where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and Personal Care Assistant. She was a natural with her patients as well as their families, which left a lasting impression on them. Buelah ensured that her patients received the best care; her dedication, meticulousness, and bedside manner were unapparelled.

Buelah was best known for her love of life, generosity, quick-witted humor, beauty, and style. She had a youthful spirit and lived every day as though it were her last. Her laugh was contagious and lit up every room she entered.

Buelah was preceded in death by her parents Cora Lee (Simmons) and Rev. Tilman Atchison; siblings Irene Dotsy, Janice Davis, James Atchison, Chester Atchison, and Lester Moore; son Ricky Nelson Atchison; and great-grandson Lance Lamar Luster.

Buelah is survived by her siblings Lillian Stoxstell, Hettie Lacy, and Arthur Atchison of Dallas Texas, Timothy Atchison of Mount Pleasant, Texas; children Bulinda (Phillip) Roney, Deloris (Phil) Reynolds, and Kerry (Shelia) Minter of Mount Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren Rasha (Ralston) Luster, Jermaine (Destiny) Roney, Rickey Doss, Jermeshia Roney, Rheatossiea (Montral) Walker, Xavier Doss, Nyia (Keith) Brown, Tara (Vaughn) Wesley, Rhonda Edwards, Eboney Roney, Jakerrian Minter, Krystal Aikins, Kerry Minter Jr., Damonte Minter, Jamari Minter, Kori Rogers, and Hali Rogers; numerous great-grandchildren; and significant other Jessie Greene.
