Charlene Hawkins Whitmore was born September 5, 1925 to Earnest and Bessie Hawkins. Charlene went to Booker T. Washington School and Prairie View A.M. in Prairie View, Texas. She was married to Melvin Whitmore on December 22, 1949. Charlene was a member of Murry League Church. She taught school in the Mount Vernon School district for many years, before going to work for Red River, where she retired. Charlene was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and two brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
