Obituary

Brother Charlie E. Thompson, Jr. was born on September 20, 1944, in Pittsburg, Texas to the parentage of Charlie E. Thompson, Sr. and Clara Dell Harris. He was a 1963 graduate of Frederick Douglas High School in Pittsburg, Texas. He joined the United States Air Force in 1963. He served his country faithfully as a technical sergeant and honorably retired in 1983. In 1983, he was employed by the United States Postal Service in Ft. Worth, TX, where he was a dedicated employee for twenty-two years and three months. He met and married Sallie Thompson in 2005. He moved to Gilmer, TX and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He gained two stepsons, Alvin Dale Veasley and Phillip Robertson, Jr. (Kim) and a granddaughter, Kasmine Robertson. Charlie enjoyed cooking soul food meals. He loved taking pictures of everyone. He enjoyed being around family. He cherished his two lovely daughters Nevico and Pamela and their children.

Charlies is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie E. Thompson, Sr., and Clara Dell Harris; two sisters, Dorthy Duffey and Mary Louise Hill; one brother, James Thompson.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his lovely wife, Sallie Thompson of Pittsburg, TX; two daughters, Nevico Thompson (Keith) of Ft. Worth, TX and Pamela Williams of Killeen, TX; two stepsons, Alvin Dale Veasley and Phillip Roberston, Jr. (Kim) of Gilmer, TX; grandchildren, Bryiel Williams, Chance Easley (Natalie), La'neecia Easley (David) all of Ft. Worth, TX, Tyana Bradford (Nehemiah) of Killeen, TX, Kasmine Roberston of Gilmer, TX; 7 great-grandchildren, A'mir Easley, Z'Mor Bradford, Chadwick Bradford, Trent Craft, Luna Craft, Rohan Craft, and Jelani Bradford; one brother, Tommy Thompson (Robernetta) of Atlanta, GA; 3 sisters, Becky Gallon (Bobby) of Baltimore, Maryland, Glender Rhymes (Willie) and Jessie Simmons of Pittsburg, TX; best friend, Bernard Hamilton (Helen) of Ft. Worth, TX, Mother of his 2 daughters, Shelia Thompson of Ft. Worth, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.
