The Life Story of Clifton D. Wright

Clifton D. Wright, the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan ever was born on October 25, 1970, in Munich, Germany, raised in El Paso, Texas after his father retired from the military. Cliff lived a full and vibrant life that touched many around him. On February 17, 2025, Cliff passed away at the age of 54 in Fort Worth, Texas. He leaves a legacy that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Cliff was an embodiment of joy and kindness, known for his infectious laughter and love of jokes. This gentle giant of a man always put others at ease with his warm demeanor. Family gatherings were never quite complete without Cliff's story-filled conversations and his undying love for fishing, often spinning tales about the "big one that got away."

A 1990 graduate of Andress High School, Cliff made his mark playing high school football, with teammates still recalling his sportsmanship and dedication. He remained an active alum, frequently engaging in community events that celebrated the spirit of his cherished school.

In 2016, Cliff moved to Arkansas, where he continued to embrace life with open arms. His journey eventually brought him to Fort Worth in 2020 as part of his career, settling into a community that quickly grew to love his gentle nature and infectious smile.

Cliff was a Christian man, holding moderate views that guided his actions and relationships. The loss of his parents, Charles R. and Wilma J. (Monroe) Wright left a void yet filled him with the compassion and resilience that defined his character.

Survived by his dear siblings—Charles D. Wright, Wilbur D. Wright, Florence D. Wright, Stephanie D. Wright, and Michael D. Wright—Cliff's familial bonds were strong and deeply rooted in love. Terrie Ann Carter aka affectionally named Solid Gold by Cliff, the Big Aunt/Cousin. His partner, Antoinette Doctor. His beloved son, Derick Xavier Wright, carries forward the legacy of a father who was as loving as he was playful. Nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, aunts, and cousins and host of friends and coworkers.

In his professional life and personal endeavors, Cliff was, at heart, a family man, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. His greatest accolades are the hearts he touched during his lifetime.

As we remember and celebrate the life of Cliff, we do so with tears and smiles alike, for his spirit lives on in each of us.
