Corey had his sunrise on September 27, 1968 he was born to Linda Hale Culbertson and Milton Barker, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He grew up in San Diego, California where he formed many lasting friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Corey loved this country with a burning passion, and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with an even greater burning passion. He worked at Home Depot for 7 years, before having to quit due to kidney failure. While at Home Depot he made some good friendships there as well. If you were a friend to Corey, you might as well have been family, because he treated you as so. Before Corey got sick he enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible. There was not a time he did not stop to pray with people. Corey was not just concerned about if you had a place to sleep and food to eat, he was also concerned about your eternal destination. Corey attended The Mission in Mount Pleasant, the minute he walked through the doors he said"I feel at home".
