Danny Jake Purdon was born on January 30, 1946 in Mt. Vernon Tx to Jake Purdon and Helen Thomas.

Danny was attending East Texas State College in Commerce after graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School when he was drafted to serve in the United States Army. He served 2 years with 1 year being spent in Vietnam. Soon after returning home, Danny met the love of his life. He and Brenda Ann Moore were married on August 8, 1969. During their 56 years of marriage, they raised 2 sons, Jimmy Shannon and Michael David.

Danny passed away peacefully in Pittsburg, Tx on June 7, 2026. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Jolane Wright of Mt. Vernon, Tx.

Danny leaves behind his loving wife, Brenda Purdon of Cookville, TX. He also leaves behind 2 sons, Jimmy Shannon Purdon (wife Christy) of Naples, TX and Michael David Purdon of Cookville, TX.

Danny has 9 grandchildren - Jimmy Purdon, II, Christopher Purdon, Zakary Purdon, Jake Purdon, Dakota Purdon, Treavor Wright, Kinsey Wright, Audrie Wright, and Hailey Wright. He also has 2 great-grandchildren - Nora Purdon (his PRETTY LITTLE GIRL) and Grayson Woodyard.
