David Ray Hunt 71, a lifelong adventurer passed away on April 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by resilience, generosity, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Born on June 20, 1954, in Spokane, Washington, David was the son of George and Elverna Hunt. He was raised there and it remained a place close to his heart throughout his life.

David honorably served in the United States Army, demonstrating the same quiet strength and sense of duty that would carry through the rest of his life. Following his service, he built a long and respected career as an electrician, known for his craftsmanship, problem-solving abilities, and a natural talent for fixing anything that needed attention.

A true free spirit, David spent much of his life drawn to the outdoors and the sense of freedom it provided. He spent several meaningful years in the Whitefish and Columbia Falls, Montana areas, where he embraced the beauty of the region and the lifestyle he loved. In the last five years of his life, he made his home in Bogata, Texas, where he found joy in fixing up his house and tending to his gardens—projects that reflected both his independence and his love of creating something lasting with his own hands.

David found happiness in camping, fishing, and hunting, often seeking out the quiet moments that came with being surrounded by nature. He also had a deep love for music, which was a constant companion whether he was working on a project or simply relaxing.

Above all, David will be remembered for his generosity and unwavering willingness to help others. He was the person you could call when you needed a hand—reliable, capable, and always ready to show up without question.

He is survived by his children, Melissa Gauthier, George Hunt, and Anna-Marie Yorba; his sisters, Patricia Troiano and Sherrii Hunt and his brother, Tom Hunt and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Hunt.

David's life was one of quiet impact—defined not by words, but by actions, kindness, and the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
