Della Pearl O'Neil was born on June 10, 1956 to the parentage of Mrs. Thelma Ree Colbert O'Neil and Mr. Ocie Roosevelt O'Neil, Jr. As a child, Della was a daddy's girl. She always tried to follow her daddy everywhere he went. At the demise of her father in 1962, Della was distraught and could not attend his funeral. She remained on the parking lot until the funeral was over. Della was a third generation of the Church of God in Christ denomination. As a child, she attended Baldwin Chapel Church under the leadership of the late Superintendent Jack Baldwin. As an adult, she attended Greater Harvest Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Frank W. Smith, Jr. After his demise, Bishop Corby Bush, Sr. became her pastor. She was a member until her death. Della is, also, affiliated with Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction. Bishop Nelson J. Gatlin, Prelate. Mother Patricia Roach, Supervisor of Women. Della served on the Public Relations Department and was responsible for the monthly newsletter. Della attended the Dallas Independent School Districts – Charles Rice Elementary, Pearl C. Anderson, and Lincoln High School. Della is proceeded in death by her parents, Ocie and Thelma O'Neil; grandparents, James and Della Mae Colbert; brothers, Ocie and Eugene O'Neil; nephew Johnnie Jameal Spencer; nieces, Carren O'Neil and Nicole Spencer; and a host of relatives. Della leaves to cherish her memories: Brother – Amos O'Neil. Sisters – Thelma Lowe, Videllia and Brunett O'Neil, and Debra O. (John) Miles. Special Aunt – Adline Turner. Sisters-In-Law – Linda and Caroline O'Neil. Host of special nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. And a host of relatives.
