Dildred M. Allen also known as "Tweety", "Big Auntie", "MeMe' and "Mebz" was born February 13, 1959 in Gilmer, TX to Bennie L. Johnson and Wanda Jean Johnson (Ford). Dildred was a mother, sister, daughter and friend with a bright smile and internal light that lit up any room she entered. Dildred's smile and encouraging words were always a part of her daily life making sure those closest to her knew how much she loved and appreciated them. Dildred was a woman of God and a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church serving in the choir, Mission Department and a Sunday School Teacher. Dildred was a graduate of Union Hill High school, Class of 1977. After graduating high school she continued her education at Kilgore College as an Operating Room Technician. Dildred recognized her gift of compassion for others, so went higher in learning. Dildred attended Northeast Texas Community College, and in 1981 Dildred passed the Board of Vocational Nurse Examine, where she held the title LVN for over 40 years. Dildred was employed by ETMC, UT Health, Dr. William R. Christensen. Dildred loved to sing, dance, and assist others when needed especially in her community. Dildred enjoyed sitting outside, taking care of her flowers, and spending time with her son, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God paged Nurse Dildred Allen for her heavenly duty on July 28, 2021 at 8:43 a.m. Dildred was preceded by her father Bennie L. Johnson, Sr., two brothers Reginald Johnson and Bennie L. Johnson, Jr., one uncle James Ford, and two aunts Leslie Ford and Bobbie Hemphill. She leaves to cherish memories: a son, Donald Wayne Allen, Jr., a daughter, Rochelle Johnson, three bonus sons, Kiryenski Richardson, Undra Bates, and London Jones, three grandchildren, La'Darius Johnson, Kirren Richardson and Dildra Richardson, three great-grandchildren, Majestee-Garnet Johnson, Pharaoh-Mair Johnson, Samson-Set Johnson, her mother, Wanda Jean Johnson, two brothers Rhonie (Shelia) Johnson and Robert Johnson, three sisters Melanie (Steve) Williams, Jennifer Edmonds, LaTricia (Thomas) Jones, two uncles, Almond Johnson and Johnny Johnson, a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, her best friend Nadra Harper, a host of close healthcare co-workers, and community friends.
