Obituary

Donna Michelle Walter was born September 29, 1958, in Corsicana, Texas to Superintendent James & Ola Walter. She graduated from O. D. Wyatt High School. She accepted Christ at a very young age under the leadership of her father/pastor Supt. James W. Walter at 3rd Street Mission Church of God in Christ now known as Bible Way Church of God in Christ.

On December 19, 1981, she became Mrs. Donna Michelle Freeman in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Mr. Carlos Freeman, I. They shared a loving marriage for 44 years until her demise. To this union, three children were born, Carlos Freeman, II, Chelsea Freeman, and Cambre Freeman.

Donna worked for YMCA After School Program for many years. Later, she partnered with her parents to foster children. She loved caring for other children and gave love, nurture, and care. After fostering children for over 25 years, Donna had an opportunity to work for Miracle of Learning Day Care Center until her health caused her to depart from the job.

Donna often bragged about her husband's love for her, the things he bought for her, and the delicious foods he prepared for her. She bragged about Big Carlos's cooking so much at the dialysis center, that Carlos decided to cook a full course meal for the center.

Donna loved her children and was like the metaphor of a Mama Bear. She protected, stepped in charge, and prevented any type of harm to her adult children. One would hear her voice roar and take action to leave her children alone. Donna loved her family. She was happy, content, a fighter in means of enduring dialysis and life. She was loving, caring, respectful, a praying woman of God, and a loving wife and mother to her children.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, Supt. James W. Walter and sibling Dwane L. Walter.
