Mrs. Dorothy Armstead-Newton was born January 15, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, TX, to Earnest and Alice Ivory-Armstead. She attended Mt. Pleasant public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Dorothy married Troy Lee Newton, Sr. and to their union 4 children were born. Dorothy entered into eternal rest on February 18, 2020, in Dallas, TX. Proceeding her in death were her parents, Earnest and Alice Armstead; daughter, Dorothy Jean Barney; son Lewis Barney and three siblings, Earnest Patterson, and Willie R. Armstead. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Gaylon W. Newton (Debra Ann Newton) and Troy L. Newtown, Jr.; and five daughters, Monique Newton, Lastarya Newton, Kiera Newton, Charlie Newton, all of Mt. Pleasant, TX and Kawanna Barney of Dallas, TX.; siblings Winfred Armstead, Annie R. Gross, Bernice Armstead, Cleo Armstead, Lorenzo Armstead, Walton Armstead, Betty Armstead, Vernell Reid, Nellie M. Fleming, Nina F. Miller, and Willie Ray Armstead all of Dallas, TX; twenty-two grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy was truly loved and will be missed.
