Dorothy Faye Reynolds Nixon was born May 23, 1943 in Mt. Pleasant, Titus County, to the parentage of Luvenia Reynolds and adopted by Reverend L.C. Bell, Sr. and Essie Lee Bell.
Dorothy united with Cottrell Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Mt. Pleasant, Texas at an early age and served diligently in various ministries until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
She was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, class of 1961, Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
Dorothy devoted many years to Pilgrim's Pride Corp, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, later she worked in private homes as a dedicated housekeeper also in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
Dorothy affectionately known as "Dot" lived a life of faith, and love.
She is remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Dot loved the Lord and her love was evident in all aspects of her life.
Her unwavering faith and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, providing comfort and inspiration.
Dorothy entered into eternal rest July 14, 2024 at Longview Regional Hospital, Longview, Texas.
Dot leaves to cherish and continue to honor her legacy of love, faith and service; daughters, Sarah (Dexter) Dean, of Leesville, LA, Sherry Sanders of Mt. Pleasant, TX; son, Darrin (Sherry) Sanders of Longview, TX; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, TX; brothers, Lonnie C. Bell, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, TX; Johnny F. (Cencil) Bell of Pittsburg, TX., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins and friends. Special friends and families; Mr. and Mrs. Wright Patnam Johnson, Jr., the McCauley and Bible families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Nixon, Sr., sons, Kenneth Reynolds and Henry Nixon, Jr. sisters, Mary Louise Chandler, Leslie Jean Gibbs, Barbara Ann Evans, Willie Faye Warren, Elizabeth "Cat" Johnson; brothers, Johnny Mitchell, Norris Smith, Jackie Rogers, and Marvin Reynolds.
