He was a faithful member of the Northridge Church of Christ. You could've called him an avid outdoorsmen. He enjoyed many outdoor sports such as camping, hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding just to name a few. When he got out of pocket he might have been at Wright Pattman camping while running trot lines for catfish or under 21 bridge crappie fishing or he even may have run up to Broken Bow to hook a few rainbow trout. He was the same way when it came to riding his motorcycle. He joined the Army in 1959. While serving, he found his passion for cooking for others. He loved showing off his skills weather it was on the grill, smoker, oven or over an open fire outside. For a long time if anyone wanted to have a fish fry you could count on Doyle to do the cooking….and you were never disappointed. Through out his life he worked in an array of fields: Oil Refinery, Steele Mill, Long haul trucker and the pest control business. He was an entrepreneur at heart. In 1982 he opened and operated DeRBy Ent. House Leveling and Foundation Repair until he retired. After retiring you could find him at what we called the "OFFICE" AKA Whataburger. Some times as many as twice a day. He liked going and hanging out with his coffee drinking buddies. Doyle was born on 12/07/1936 in Titus County to Phillip Hershall Black and Jessie Florance Awtry Black. He was married to Starlyn Black from 1960 until her passing in 2009. They were married 2 months shy of 50 years. In 2012 he married Doris Swanner-Black. His adventures continued until her passing in Feb. 2021. He survived by his sons: Jesse Black and spouse Maria Hart, James Black and daughter Patrice Tidwell and spouse Billy Tidwell. Grandchildren: Jacob Black, Jacque & Bryan Bowers, Eric Tidwell & Kayla Birchfield, Jessica & Michael Conley, Bent & Tanaiah Black and Khristian Davis. Great grandchildren: Keylie and Mika Tidwell, Ryder and Reagan Bowers and Elora Black. Brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Millie Black, Doris Swanner-Black's family, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, wife Starlyn Black, wife, Doris Swanner-Black and one brother Harold Black.
