Obituary

Elizabeth passed away, at the age of 99, on December 17, 2020. She was born Elizabeth Ann Everett in Omaha, Texas, on June 28, 1921. Her parents were James D. Everett, Sr. and Ardella P. Heath Everett. She united with Omaha First Baptist Church at an early age. Elizabeth was married to Charlie DeLoye Harris, Sr. and from this union eight children were born. Charlie, Jr., Sally, Carlene & Charlene, Elgie Ruth, Evelyn Fay, Sandra Louise and Gloria Jean. Years after the death of Charlie D., she married A.D. Nickleberry and he preceded her, in his death, in 1983. Elizabeth was a loving mother and a remarkable cook. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends; most especially, over the holidays, with friends and relatives dropping by to sample her cooking. She had a way of reaching people in a positive manner. She had an infectious smile and had a kind and compassionate spirit. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ardella; daughters, Sally and Charlene; siblings, Augustus (Sonny), Annie Mae, Louise, L.J., J.D., Alva Jean, Kenneth, and Hazel. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Charlie (Texarkana); Carlene (San Antonio); Elgie (Omaha); Evelyn (Omaha); Sandra Johnson (Michael)-(Dallas); Gloria Martin (Dennis)-(Omaha). 37 Grandchildren; 43 Great-Grandchildren; 28 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
