Mrs. Eloise Hunter was born in Upshur County Texas on January 10, 1944, to the
parentage of Mr. Roger and Arie Shaw.
She attended public school at Bruce High School. At an early age she commit-
ted her life to Christ at Mount Lebanon CME Church. Sister Hunter was a devot-
ed, active and faithful member of her church. She actively served as Vice Presi-
dent to the Missionary Society until her health began to fail. Sister Hunter was a
woman of wisdom one who walked with grace. A prayer warrior to say the least
she ran her Christian race.
She married Jerome Hunter, the love of her life on July 4, 1964, and to this union
five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome Hunter, son Reginald Shaw,
parents Roger and Arie Shaw, 11 brothers and 5 sisters. Sister Hunter passed
away January 14, 2024, at Christus Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler TX.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two beautiful daughters Denise Shaw and
Delois Hunter of Dallas TX. Two sons James Hunter and Jerome Hunter, Jr. of
Simpsonville Texas. 9 grandchildren (1 of which she raised) LaTonya Shaw. Mi-
chael Hubbard, Reginald Shaw, Jr., La Porsha Hunter, DeQuante Woods, Devante
Hunter, Denisha Harris, Jarrell Hunter and Jamal Hunter. 12 great grandkids
and one sister Jesse Andrews. 3 sisters-in-laws Annamary Hunter, Nadine
Hunter and Johnny Shaw. 1 brother-in-law, Alfred Hunter. And a host of neph-
ews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
