Ezeal McGill was born on February 2, 1935 to Houston McGill and Margaret Lewis McGill. Ezeal was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and began his teaching career. He was a life-long active alumni of the Texas College association. While in College, Ezeal met his forever life partner and they were married on December 27, 1957, to ElDoris McAllister. To this union, three children were born, Reginald McGill of Mt. Pleasant, LaShun Scott (Reggie Scott) of Tyler, Texas, Seleria Fletcher (Everett D. Fletcher I) of Houston Texas. Several Grandchildren; Jillian McGill, JaCoby McGill, Everett Fletcher II, Desmond Fletcher and Sionna Fletcher. Ezeal was known for his strong desire to educate others and his passion for helping children. He faithfully worked as a teacher for 24 years in Mt. Pleasant ISD and after retirement, he served on the Mt. Pleasant ISD Board for 22 years. His long-standing character and commitment to education was evident in the many students and lives that he touched. His work also included the neighborhood youth programs, and teaching and coaching in Tyler and Rusk County ISD. He loved serving his community. Early in life, Ezeal served as the YMCA director in Tyler, Texas, where he influenced and mentored many students. He was an active member of the NAACP in Mt. Pleasant. He was the trustee of Piney Cemetery association and Mt. Pleasant Waterboard for several years. He was a servant of God his entire life where he was a long-standing Deacon and trustee throughout his faithful journey in Christ Jesus. At his passing Ezeal was a faithful member and deacon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Kirthell Roberts. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, ElDoris McGill, his children, grandchildren, his brother, Eddie McGill of Tyler, Texas, one sister, Ella Hardy of Dallas, Texas, children Elder Newman and Frederick Finney of Dallas, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and his class of 1955. Ezeal loved life, his family and all those who knew him. May his legacy live on forever and ever……AMEN!
