On February 12, 1933, Henry Louis Byrd was born in Pittsburg, Texas to the parents of Charlie Byrd and Odessa

White Byrd Spencer.

Henry attended Frederick Douglass School in Pittsburg, Texas and later served in the United States Army. He was a member of Saint Beulah Methodist

Church in Pittsburg,

Texas. He met and united in marriage to Tommie McGill. Henry worked many years in

the Refinery Industry until retirement.

Henry passed away November 18, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Byrd and Odessa White Byrd Spencer; his wife Tommie Lee McGill Byrd; three brothers Charlie Byrd Jr., John Arthur Byrd, Bobby Ray Byrd; one sister Kathy Ruth Armstrong (Eddie

Lee; granddaughter Keondra Byrd; and great-grandson

LaDalvin De'Vante Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories, his three sons Byron Byrd (Susie), Daryl Byrd, and Kendrick Byrd (Diane); daughter Larenee McGill Mitchell; two brothers Edward Spencer and Anthony Spencer (Marsha); two sisters Ora Lee Blacknall Payne and Diane Rogers (James Edward); eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-grand child and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives

and friends.
