Obituary

On one hot summer day on July 5,1947, God blessed Roxie Anna and Warren G. Arthur with a beautiful bouncing baby girl, Jeanette Arthur. She was born in Palestine Texas, first of three children. She was so tiny at birth, her father nicknamed her "PeeWee" and that named followed her all of her life. She attended Washington Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and A.M. Story High School graduating in May 1965. She served as Junior Class Officer and Cheerleader, as well as participating in Thespian Club, Tri-Hi-YClub and A Cappella Choir, 1963-1966. However, her most prized and outstanding accomplishment was being crowned "Miss. A. M. Story" 1963-1964. After moving to the big city, she joined Prayer of Faith C.O.G.I. C. under the leadership of her late uncle Supt. Billy C. Joe and served in various auxiliaries until she began to take care of her mother. Even at an early age she had a big heart with the love to help others. She began to use her talent to take care of others by becoming a beautician. She opened her own business in 1977 in Dallas with the name of Joe's Mirror Image. Shortly afterward she went in business with her uncle Supt. Billy C. Joe at Joe's Beauty and Barber Shop, still doing what she loved, taking care of others. After being a beautician for years, she decided to venture out and began her work in other fields with electronic microchips, but of course that wasn't really doing what she loved to do, "helping people". So she began a career with Dart Para Transit where she worked for 25 years until her health began to fail. On September 28, 1998 she met and married the love of her life, Mr. J. T. Wiley. Although, Jeanette was not blessed to have children of her own, she had a hand in helping raise all of her nieces and nephews like they were her own. She transitioned her life from labor to reward and took her rest surrounded by her family on August 21, 2018. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Warren G and Roxie Arthur, her brother Warren G Arthur II, stepson Rodney Wiley, nephew and niece, Paul(Sharon) Birdow. Left to cherish her memories, her husband of 20 years, J.T. Wiley, brothers: Claude Arthur, George O. (Joyce) Arthur, nieces and nephews: Katrina, Cheryl, Debbie, Markeith, Tara, Warren III, Angele', Crystal and Tya, Godson: Byron Golden, Sister-in laws: Alice Jones, Dorothy White, Joyce Dunn, Shirley Lewis and Edna King, brother-in-laws: Jamie Wiley and Clayton Waite, Also left to cherish her memory are a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, special cousins and relatives and friends.
