Jessie L. Mathews McGill King Fomby was born March 12, 1941 in Waco, Texas to Edward L. Mathews and Jessie M. Winn Mathews. She attended the Waco public schools and graduated from Moore High School. She married and four children were born; John, Eugenia, Saleemah and Nancy. Jessie worked at Bealls Department store for many years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and it was one of her fondest places to visit. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husbands and her brother Edward Mathews, Jr. Left to cherish her loving memories are her children: (1) son John Lewis and (3) daughters Eugenia Walker, Saleemah Abdullah and Nancy Gallon; sisters Ethel Hayes, Verdie Henderson and Jimmie Davis; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child.
