Deacon Jimmie Lee Lawton the tenth child out of thirteen children born to

Leon Lawton, Sr. and Mother Edna Peel-Lawton on April 12, 1946. He was

preceded in death by his parents, a Wife Anita (3) Sisters; Ruby, Dorothy and

Mary Ann (3) Brothers; J.E., A.W., and George, as well as 2 son, 2 Grandson; Also

his Father and Mother-in-law, Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law. Jimmie,

graduated during the era of segregation from the J. J. Rhoads High School,

Daingerfield, TX in 1965 as an excellent sportsman where he played football

and ran track. Jimmie served his country faithfully in the U. S. Army doing 2

tours of duty in the Vietnam War classified and ranked as an E-6 Staff Sergeant.

"Buckle's" personality was very distinguished by his Love for People, his

Smiling, Speaking to all he came in contact with and his classy fashionable

outfits; matching from head-to-toe. He always showed Love through his giving

and sharing with all and his special Love for children giving then a dollar bill.

"Buckle" loved gardening and cooking; he especially loved Horses, he trained

many and taught them how to Strut & Dance. He would Ride and Show his

horse in many Parades.

Jimmie was born in the Faith Temple Church Of God In Christ under the

leadership of the late Elder O. J. Washington and served every Pastor afterward

which included the late Supt. L. C. Castleberry, the late Supt. Alfred C. Key, Sr.

and currently Pastor Alfred C. Key, Jr. Jimmie gave his life to Christ in the year

of 1993 and was water baptized on February 6, 1994 under the leadership of

Supt. Alfred C. Key, Sr. and during his tenure he became Head Deacon and

Treasurer after his brother Elder A. W. Lawton was elevated to Pastor in

Winnsboro. He continued to serve in spite of his health challenges as Head

Deacon, Trustee Board Member and in the Transportation Department under

his current Pastor Elder Alfred C. Key, Jr. Jimmie also served the community in

the Brothers.Uncles.Dads.Developing.Youth. Organization.

Jimmie leaves to cherish his precious memory a Loving wife of 33 years

Yvonne, (5) Daughters; Valerie Lawton, Rhonda "Sissie" Lawton, Lorraine

Lawton, Tonya(Kenneth) Smith, and Teresa Allen; 1 Son Will Lawton; (3)

Brothers Earnest Lawton (Delores), Leon Lawton, Jr. (Charlene) and Wilbert

Lawton; (3) Sisters Mother Bonnie J. Evans, Evangelist Miss'y Mary Smith, and

Sister Marise Banks(Roger) as well as (16) Grandchildren, (14) Great-

Grandchildren, In-Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.
