The "Saga" of Our Borrowed Angel…The One and Only Kashaiia Cloteal Elias

The world was gifted with the natural uniqueness of our daughter, sister, grandchild, and confidante on 30th of June, the year of our lord 2004. She was born to Shalia Marie Seanior (Rogers) and Michael Eugene Elias, Jr. at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Upon birth into this world, she was a tiny bundle of 4lbs 8oz, but over the years grew into the biggest and brightest star known to our family, or anyone who encountered her. She was the first great-grandchild on the maternal side of her family, so without saying her grandmother (Mama) Sis. Jewel Lee Loyd (preceded in death) held her to somewhat of high esteem. Kashaiia was given the middle name "Cloteal" in honor of her great-great grandmother Cloteal Ransom (Townsend) (preceded in death), therefore dubbing her with the "nickname" "Miss Cloteal."

At the early age of 7 years old, Kashaiia, was welcomed into the home of her father, where she decided to give her life to Christ by baptism in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. While she had been introduced to Christ since birth it was no surprise for her to decide to follow Christ. She attended Sardis Baptist church under regime of late Rev. V.O. Horn and continued with Pastor Walker. She was a proud member of the "Sunshine Band" and summer program at First Church of God in Christ Family Worship Center. Sis. Ginger and Bro. Eddie faithfully took her and her brother Kei-mahni under their blessed wings. Kashaiia illuminated any and every room, space, event she was a part of with her gorgeous bright smile and continually positive personality. As her grandmother, there was never a time she needed to be chastised at home or school…she was an exceptional child and adult in which I was so proud. Kashaiia always followed the rules allotted without needed explanation. As a small child she often questioned why everyone did not love each other the way she did.

Kashaiia was blessed with a beautiful voice and loved to share her God-given talent throughout her short life. The unique style she possessed flowed through her artwork display, style of dress, make-up application, hairstyles, composition of her music style and choices of genre. Her overall presence depicted her inviting presence. She was always polite never disrespecting anyone, or raising her voice or hand in anger..

Kashaiia graduated from Creekview Highschool in Carrollton, Texas in 2022. After graduation, she held various jobs. Soon after meeting the love of her young life and becoming engaged to Mr. Nicholas Donnell Burley Jr., they began life together residing in Arlington, Texas.

Kashaiia was somewhat of a private and unbothered young lady, choosing to be very independent, which was one of the characters as a young person that was most admired, and it was continually voiced.

She recently graduated from Legacy Institute in Dallas, Texas, with us constantly encouraging her to pursue opportunities in the medical field but after holding a position briefly in field, she voiced that she could not stand to see another suffer. This was true evidence of her kind and gentle nature. She chose to complete the course as licensed insurance agent and excelled.

God called her home as she was commuting from her job held at DFW airport on the night of February 12, at 11 PM. Although, this tragedy will continue to linger causing pain, doubt, in the minds and hearts of all of us. We are thankful for the of the 20 short years of lifetime God allowed us with her down her. Remember the questions are not ours to ask, just lean on God's grace and understanding, while thanking and praises him for the time he allowed us to forever be inspired, and changed through her existence, and his beloved child's effervescent presence.

Kashaiia Cloteal Elias is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal great-grandparents…several uncles and aunts, special mention of her closest uncle James Eugene Loyd (Coffeyville, Ks)

She leaves to carry on her exuberant, pleasant, distinct fond memory with sharing and caring smile as follows: Mother, Shalia Marie Seanior (Darryl Cooks) of Lewisville, TX; Father, Michael Eugene Elias, Jr.; Brothers: Kei-mahni Cre'sean Rogers (Davis) of Pleasonton, Ks; Kash Duane Wilson of Carrollton, TX; Sisters, Kris'sarria Cyree Williams (Davis) of Pleasonton, Ks; Kenadhii Jewel Calise Reed of Lewisville, Tx, Ko'ah Catece Cooks of Lewisville, Tx, Alexia Jones-Elias, Akaea Elias and Brieonna Elias; special cousin, Khaniah Symone Ornelas; Fiancé, Nicholas Donnell Burley, Jr., Step-Father, Darryl Cooks of Lewisville, TX and Surrogate Father, Roger I. Martin, Sr.

To Tova "TT" Thompson, always know you are more than appreciated by her for constantly praying, denying yourself, defending her choices in life without explanation needed. She looked up to you while respecting you as her pillaring mentor. You were always there for her from day 1 of birth, to year 20 at the transitioning site. You were there unconditionally through thick and thin, showing her the world she loved. You are definitely the mother #2 and she was without a doubt your first born "ride or die". She would go to war behind you and vice versa. Rest assured my dear Kashaiia was too precious for this old world, lean on God's word, he will see us through. Always remember "Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted," Mathew 5:4.

She will be forever immortalized in this grandmothers mind as the old "Willie Nelson" song words… "Angel flying too close to the ground."

She was loved by "us" while her broken wings have been mended, and with God's spectacular, unchanging, awesome command, she has now joined his excellence chosen band of angels to watch and smile over all from above…you have only begun my dear angel fly high and sing loud!!!!!
