Ms. Loretha (Lo) was baptized into Christ at the age of 18, at the Valley Spring Church of Christ, in Gilmer, Texas (the Bethlehem Community); by brother March Herd of Longview, Texas.
She was true to her faith and always tried to do what was right. She had a wonderfully strong memory and could sit for hours recounting incidents of the past as though they happened the day before.
Quite often friends from her past would call and ask about incidents of the distant past and she would tell them the entire story just as though they just happened the day before! What a fabulous memory!
She leaves to cherish her memories the following special people:
(1) Ms. Margaret Harrison (caregiver)
(2) Mo. Clover Jackson (Dallas)
(3) Mrs. Lois Phillips (Dallas)
Loretha was so happy with the relationships that she developed with members of the church in both cities: Gilmer (Valley Springs Church of Christ) and Greenville Avenue Church of Christ in Dallas.
Ms. Hutchings passed away the early morning of September 3, 2023 after a brief illness.
She leaves to mourn her passing, three sisters: May Mathis, Gwen Tolliver, and Veronica Abrams; and one brother, Roy Hutchings (Lucy), Ms. Margaret Harris – caregiver and very special friend
