Obituary

Bro. L.V. Evans was born on October 27th, 1935, to the parentage of H.V. and Sarah Evans. He was baptized at an early age and became a loyal member of the Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ until his health declined. After graduating from JJ Rhoads High School in Daingerfield in 1955, he became known as one of the greatest basketball players of that time. Bro. L.V. enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his twin brother E.V. Evans and was a father figure to many young boys in the Daingerfield community. He encouraged them to strive to become exceptional athletes. His dedication to sports was remarkable, as he spent countless hours watching games at home. In addition to his love for sports, Bro. L.V. also had a passion for fishing and farming.

Bro. L.V. was employed with General Telephone Company (GTE) as an Engineer and Cable Spiker, where he retired after 31 years.

Bro. Evans was united in Holy Matrimony to Bonnie Evans, and they have shared their life together for over 70 years; seven children were born to this union.

He was preceded in death by His sons L.V. Evans JR. and Earl Evans (Cofat), one grandson Tony Evans Jr.(T.J.) His parents, H.V. and Sarah Evans; his sisters, Chestene Reese and Rita Singleton; his brothers, E.V. Evans and Charles Peter Evans Sr.

He leaves to celebrate his beautiful memories his wife, Mother Bonnie Evans; his daughters Bobbie Summers (William) and Pam Evans; his sons Dennis Evans, Marcus Evans, Elywin Evans(Keisha), Tony Evans (Aretha) and one stepson Clarence Young. His sister Linda Evans, Brothers: Billy Earl Evans (Pearlie Mae), Donald Evans (Jackie), and Richard Evans. One Auntie Queen Evans, a special niece Jacqueline Austin. 30 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
