Mavin Troy Tennon, of Mount Vernon went on to glory on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born in Dallas, Texas, Dallas County on November 22, 1965 to the parents of Opal L Hargrave-Tennon and Clarvis G. Tennon.

At an early age Mavin and his Mother relocated to Mount Vernon where he attended Mount Vernon Public School. He later received his GED, moved to Dallas and built a career as an insurance agent. As his mother's health began to fail he returned home to Mount Vernon and became a member of Denton Missionary Baptist Church where he answered his call to ministry, and sang in the male chorus.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother and his sister Regina. He joined in union with Tina McGill on September 8, 1995 and is survived by his wife of 29 years. He also leaves behind a God-Sister, LaRae Granburry (Fort Worth, TX), 2 Aunts Mary Sue Fuller (Mount Pleasant), Virginia Faye Haynes (Killeen, TX), 2 Uncles Glindon (Edna) Hargrave (Rockwall, TX), & Jimmy M. Hargrave (Midland, TX) and a host of cousins & friends.

Mavin never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his love for God, jokes, and lively spirit.
