Missionary Euela Wooten

Euela Coleman Wooten, 85, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, peacefully departed from this earthly realm in Cedar Hill, Texas on September 18, 2023. She was born on November 6, 1936, in Clarksville, Texas to parentage of Benny Coleman and Revonia Maxwell. She married Arthur Lee Wooten on December 22, 1953. Together they have three children, Arthur Lee Wooten, Jr., Larry Dwain Wooten and Jacqueline Luster (Wooten).

During her earthly journey, Euela dedicated her life to family. She served as a nurse assistant for many years at Titus County Hospital.

She was a faithful member of First Church of God in Christ in Mt. Pleasant, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Superintendent W.B. Bookman, Superintendent A.C. Greenwood and Superintendent Thomastein Smith. Euela served First Church as a missionary, church secretary, choir member and junior choir director. She also served as a District Missionary for the Rosehill District for many years. Her unwavering devotion to her church served as a testament to her unyielding commitment to the service of God, family and her community. Euela was truly a woman of God. She selflessly offered her love and support to those in need. Her unwavering dedication to serving the Lord was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Euela was preceded in death by her parents, Benny Coleman and Revonia Maxwell, her husband, Arthur Lee Wooten Sr., her son, Arthur Lee Wooten Jr., her brothers Kenneth, James, and Joel, her sister, Florence Savage (Freddie) and grandson, Jared Rayford.

Euela leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Her children, Larry Dwain Wooten, Jacqueline Wooten Luster (Harvey), Jared White (Kimberly); grandchildren: Michelle Lee Wooten, Kai Shanae Goree, and Nicole Luster Johnson (Cassius); great grandchildren, Isis Lett, Sahara Ogunade, Kannon Blaylock, Jacoby Rayford, Kendall Johnson; Great-great grandchildren: Jason Rayford, Joshua Beau Rayford, E'Yana Rayford, Kaden Paxton, London Rayford and Adrian Rayford; extended family; close friends, and all those blessed to have known her.
