Obituary of Evangelist Missionary Marguerite Hayes-Lawton On Friday, August 12, 2022, Evangelist Missionary Marguerite Hayes-Lawton went home to be with our Heavenly Father. God's good and faithful servant has finished all her earthly tasks and is preparing for her new assignment with Him. Missionary Marguerite Lawton was born on May 30th, 1924 to Minnie Ola and Ivie Hayes of Daingerfield Texas. She moved to Sanford Arizona where she received the Lord as her personal savior in 1952 in a prayer revival. She moved to San Diego California and Joined Israelite Church of God in Christ and is a life time member where she served for over 20 years under Pastor Alexander Brown, Pastor Harold Cox and Superintendent Harry W. Jessie. Her service at Israelite was exemplary shown by her work as a Home and Foreign mission worker, Missionary Board President, Prayer revivalist, and Youth Ministry Prayer Leader. In 1974 she moved back to Daingerfield and married Elder A.W. Lawton and joined with Faith Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Love Castleberry, Pastor Alfred Key Sr. and current Pastor Alfred Key Jr.. She worked as the Jr. Usher Board President, Nursing Home Ministry, Aid committee, Texas Northeast Third Jurisdiction Sewing Circle President under Mother Rivers. She evangelized throughout Texas teaching and exalting Gods word, God has blessed her with many sons and daughter. She was endeared by family and scores of friends from all over. She is proceeded in death by her Husband Elder A.W. Lawton, her parents Minnie Ola Hayes and Ivie Hayes, her brother Elverner Hayes, sister Margretha Hayes, Son Charles Austin. Her family legacy includes her step son Albert Wilbert Lawton Jr., Grandchildren: Charles Jr. Austin (Velanda Austin), Eileen Baldwin (Kenny Baldwin), Sonya Taylor (John Taylor), Phyllis Cook (T.L. Cook), Tracy Lipscomb (Billy Lipscomb), Anthony Jones (Kristi Jones), Joy Avery and a host of great grandchildren. Well done, Marguerite, My good and faithful servant. The torch is passed.
