Evangelist Missionary Mother Mary Louise Walker-Pritchett "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." John 9:4 Obituary On Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, Evangelist Missionary Mary Pritchett went home to be with our Heavenly Father. God's good and faithful servant has finished all her earthly tasks and is preparing for her new assignment with Him. Heaven has a new Angel – Mary. Mary Louise Pritchett was born January 7, 1940, to Mother Lucinda and Hezekiah Walker of Daingerfield, Texas. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Daingerfield where she was baptized and sang in the choir. She graduated from J. J. Rhoads High School in 1957. She married Burnard Charles Wilson of Daingerfield and to this union three beautiful daughters; Janice, Retha, and Andrea were born. A few years later she moved with her family to Dallas and worked at Texas Instruments and later retired as a supervisor at Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART). She was a member of Rejoicing Tabernacle COGIC, Pastor Craddock of Dallas, TX for fifteen years and served as the president of the Sunshine Band and wherever else she was needed. In 1997 she returned to Faith Temple in Daingerfield and later authored her memoirs. "Mother as I Remember Her and the Effects It Had on My Life", is a moving tribute to Mother Lucinda that offers her testimony of how God can move in a person's life. Evangelist Mary Pritchett served under leadership of (4) Pastors, Pastor O. J. Washington, Supt. Love C. Castleberry, Supt. Alfred C. Key, Sr. and current Pastor Alfred C. Key, Jr. of the Faith Temple Church Of God In Christ - Daingerfield, TX. She grew up serving in all ministries of the COGIC. A Soldier on Active Duty, in God's Army you would find her working; either cleaning, decorating, hammering and going to buy supplies for the church. She worked wholeheartedly with the Youth Department, giving drum, piano lessons, and teaching songs. Missionary Pritchett was the Assistant Sunday School Teacher of the Women & Youth Adult Classes, President of the YWCC & CWC, local, district and state. At her church she was a member of the Missionary and Mothers Board, Choir and a Musician, as well as typed the printed Sunday Morning Bulletins. As a Licensed Missionary she served as teacher of the Missionary class in the Texas Northeast 3rd Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop T. W. Johnson & Mother Ophelia Evans and on December 5, 2015 was officially appointed the Missionary Circle President under the leadership of Bishop Nelson J. Gatlin, Mother Evans and Mother Patricia Roach until her demise as well as serving on the Missionary Licensing Board. Missionary Pritchett also served in the Faith Temple & Greater Hope Outreach Districts led by District Supt. Alfred C. Key, Sr., Supt. Francis A. Rundles and District Missionary Mae Lois White. Mary was always ready to help others with her giving spirit. As Evangelist and Missionary, she spread the Word of God and brought many souls to Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents Mother Lucinda and Hezekiah Walker, her brothers Floyd Rivers, Sammie Walker, Lloyd Lee, Levern Everett, sister Juanita Evans, and grandson Derrick Wilson. She leaves one brother LJ Jones and his wife Meryl to cherish her memory. In the image of Mother Lucinda, Mary's true calling came as the matriarch of her family. Affectionately known as Mu, she raised her family in the love of Christ to instill the lessons of life. She saw her daughters through school and into their professional lives to lead families of their own. Mu is the rock of the family and she traveled from the Alaskan frontier, across the great Atlantic to Germany and France, to the hills and plains of Texas, to California, Kansas, Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. Wherever her family was Mu made it her mission to be there to lay hands on her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family legacy includes Janice and son in law Lesley Hamilton of Bowie MD, Retha Walker of Wylie TX, Andrea and son in law Fredrick Perry of Lancaster TX. Her grandchildren are Lesley II, Brent Jr., Dennis, Jantae, Derrick, Kesha, Vanishia, Latoya and Brianna Perry. She leaves 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter born on January 7, 2022 and very special lady, Miss Jamie Nix. She is endeared by nieces and nephews, family, and scores of friends from all over. Well done Mary, My good and faithful servant. The torch is passed.
