Pamela Elaine White Smedley, was a docent, at the Sam Rayburn Museum, and a lifelong resident of Bonham, Texas. She passed away after a long battle with end-stage renal failure on March 17, 2022. Pamela is survived by her older sister Ella Mason, nieces: Karen Givens, Cynthia Patterson, Serena Patterson; nephews: Kevin Elliott, Ken Mason, Eddie White; great-nieces: Jessica Black, Krystal White-Jones, Asia Givens, Aspen Givens, Andre'a Simmons-Franklin; great-nephews: Patrick Jones, Jr., Eddie Jones, Jameison Patterson, Jeffrey Leftricks and a host of other great-great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother & father Ray & Geneva White, Eva Elliott, and Bobbie Patterson. Pamela was born in Bonham, Texas on February 18, 1957 to Ray and Geneva White and spent most of her childhood in Ravenna, Texas. She graduated from East Texas State University where she receives a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education with a certification in special education. For years she worked at L.H. Rather Junior High School as a teacher and later went on to work at Collin County Metrocare as a case manager supporting individuals with mental and physical disabilities and Denton County State Schools. Pamela loved God tremendously and her faith was insurmountable. For years she served avidly under the late Supt. Willie Gilstrap as a pastor's aid, lay member servant to Pastor J.R. Gatlin, and Bishop Nelson J. Gatlin. She was an amazing aunt to her immediate nieces and nephews, providing care to many of them in their childhood. Pamela was an even more amazing sister, friend, and companion to Ella. She and Ella spent many years worshipping together, enjoying times exploring different towns to shop, and talked with each other daily. She was always available for a listening ear and provided spiritual advice to many of her family members and friends. She never met a stranger and if she did, they weren't a stranger for long. Pamela is a member of the New Life Church of God in Christ, located in Bonham, Texas where Pastor J.R Gatlin presides. Flowers, condolences, and donations may be offered on the day of the service at the Living Word Church of God located at 699 E US Hwy 82, Bonham, Tx 75418.
