My Life Story
I was born March 17, 1968 to the parentage of Lewis Joe Hornage and Mary Elizabeth Perry in Ennis, Texas. I attended and graduated from the Ennis Independent School District and was a graduate of the class of 1986. I attended and graduated from the Professional Career Centers of Dallas, Texas. I was baptized and accepted Christon July 4, 1976, at the Galilee Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas, where Dr. C. R. Johnson was my pastor. Even at an early age I knew there was a special calling on my life. In the year 1995, I accepted the calling on my life – to preach the uncompromising word in and out of season. In 1996, I preached my first sermon, at the True Lee Baptist Church, under the pastorage of Pastor D. R Parish. After this union, I was blessed to lead and pastor two flocks: New Chapel B.C. in Palestine, Texas, Pleasant Hill B. C. in Teague, Texas and New Hope B.C. in Detroit, Texas, where I faithfully served until my demise.
I served the lord, and fulfilled the calling on my life. But during this life, I was blessed with my forever rose, the fragrance who served faithfully by my side and completed my life when she united with me in holy matrimony, on June 24, 2006, My "Teacake," none other than Regina Dangerfield.
I departed this life November 1, 2020 at Paris Regional Hospital in Paris, Texas with my wife and daughter by my side.
I am preceded in death by my parents: William Harold Perry, Elizabeth Perry, and Lewis Joe Hornage.
I leave to cherish my memories: my wife, Regina Perry (Teacake) who has the key to my heart; two sons: Xavier Perry and Braylon Johnson (Brittany), and my one and only daughter Shamonda Johnson (Tre); (Children - take care of "Teacake" for me and remember I'M SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU) my grandkids: Sarai (Diva), Braylon (Prince), Tae'Juiana (Princess), Tony (T), JaHarious (JJ), Sontarius, (Chunky Monkey), and J'Nyiah (Pumpkin Pie). (You all will ALWAYS be Papa's babies) my brothers: Jimmy Wayne Perry Sr. (Debbie), Bobby Charles Perry, Raymond Harold Perry (Lois), Kenneth Hornage (Juanita), and Larry Hornage, (who all taught me different things), my sisters: Fay Michelle Booker (Gordon), Gloria Buchanan, Tasha Perry, and Jeanelle Hornage, (who will never know how much I love them), and last but certainly not least, My Church Family: The New Hope Baptist Church.
I won't name all my family and friends by name because I may leave out someone very important to me. I hope you all knew how important you are in my life. God bless you and may his face shine upon you. God bless you, I love you, and it ain't nothing you can do about it.
