Richard David Brewer was born September 21, 1959, to Richard and Merlissa Brewer in Mount Pleasant Texas. He was the oldest of 8 children.

Rick attended high school in Mount Pleasant. He excelled in basketball. From there he attended Lon Morris College in Jacksonville Texas and moved to Ouchita Baptist University in Arkadelphia Arkansas. He received a degree in business. He worked various jobs as a laborer before retiring in the early 2000's.

He met his life partner Sherry in the early 80's and together they raised 3 children. Rick had an incredible love for music. He made music in his spare time. He also loved to garden and cook delicious meals for his family. He loved being on the road driving to different destinations. During football season, he loved to watch his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys play. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Rick died in Mount Pleasant at the age of 64.

Rick is preceded in death by his father Richard Brewer, mother Merlissa Brewer, daughter LaToya "Teka" Johnson and brother-in-law "Edward Christian "Chris" Gilliam.

Left to mourn his memory is his longtime partner Sherry Brewer, daughter Ashley Brewer and son Willie Johnson III. Siblings Delisa Brewer, William (Sharon Denice), Barbara Brewer Gilliam, Martha Brewer, Darron Brewer, Robert (Joanna) Brewer and Donna Brewer. He also leaves to mourn 8 grandchildren, Tanasia Jones, Sean Jones, Taniah Johnson, Ashton Simon, Trayden Simon, Bryce Johnson, Jayceon Rush, and Aubrey Hughes. Also 3 great-grandchildren, Nakari Meaux, Klassic Hodge and Ezra Simon and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
