Ricky Lazell Gillis was born February 26, 1975 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Carolyn Gillis and Ricky Thomas. Ricky transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He attended and graduated school in the Dallas Independent School District. Ricky is a member of Greater Harvest Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Corby Bush Sr., where he accepted Christ and served on the Usher Board and also participated in the Male Choir and the Annual Men's Cookoff. Preceding him in death is his grandmothers Pearlie Mae Gillis and Noree Thomas. Grandfathers Edward Lewis Gillis, Charles Ray Jackson and Cleo Thomas and great grandmother Pearline Gipson. His brother Gerrick Wood and great aunts Hattie Thomas, Charlene Ashley, Barbara Ann Thomas, Thelma Standards and Nezlia Williams. Ricky was loved and cherished by everyone and his smile could light up an entire room. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Monica Glover Gillis, his mother Carolyn Gillis, father Ricky Thomas (Paula), by marriage 2 sons Evangelist Jocquaviun, Xavier and 2 daughters Alexus, Mercedes and four grandchildren. Sisters Nicole, Suzette, Coco and brother Darrell. A host of nephew, nieces, uncles, aunts, family and friends.
