Rita was born on December 6, 1949 in Los Angeles, CA to Ralph and Rosetta Isaiah. She was the second of five children.

She graduated from Centennial High School in 1968. Rita, a self-proclaimed "tom boy," was a passionate baseball player throughout her youth.

Rita married Earl Jamerson and later wed her high school sweetheart, Graylin Oglesby. Three children were born of these unions: Cherice, DeShone, and Veronique, whom she loved dearly. She also raised her bonus son, Shamu, nephews, Dorian and Damon, and grandsons Little Graylin and Jeremy.

Rita accepted the Lord as her Savior, as a child, and remained a follower of Christ her entire life. She was baptized for the second time at Rising Star Church where she was an active member.

In her free time, Rita enjoyed skating, sewing, and cracking jokes.

But nothing pleased her more than spending time with her family.

Rita never missed an opportunity to pose for the camera, and connect with her family, friends, and church family.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Rita slipped away peacefully, in her own way, in Longview TX, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Graylin; father, Ralph; mother, Rosetta; and grandsons, Michael and Charles.

She leaves to mourn her older brother. Ronald. as well as three younger sisters, Regina, Rachel, and Rosalind; her children, Cherice, DeShone, Veronique, Shamu; 18 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
