Robert Earl Cobbins was born September 19, 1951, in Morris County to the parentage of Mr. Jimmy L. Cobbins and Mrs. Elwilla Linwood Cobbins.

He was a graduate of Carver High School. After high school, Robert Earl joined the Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, he began his career in welding.

Robert Earl was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and one grandson, Joe Jr.
