The life and Legacy Of

Steven Edwards Smith

Twenty-Third Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Steven Edwards Smith was born in Los Angeles, California on June 25, 1960 to Lawrence and Essie Smith. Steven was the youngest of nine children. He accepted Christ at a early age.

Steven graduated from Gardena High School. After high school he went to Los Angeles Trade Technical-College. After that he decided to join the U.S. Armed forces for several years.

Steven then moved to Texas following behind his parents. Steven later married Demetria (Smith) Simmons on July 29, 1988. To this union they had two beautiful children: Raveen Smith and Stephan Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sister Margaret Johnson, and his brother Eddie Smith.

Steven was a loving father and grandfather. He loved his family with all his heart and soul. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his two grand daughters Jordyn and Dakota Hodge. He was a very loveable person with a huge heart. If you were hungry he would feed you and if you came to his house more than once the second time you're family! Steven was a very special person he touched the lives of so many, he was charming and sweet.
