Oh, to be chosen by God!

Born December 8, 1947, in Felsenthal, Arkansas to the Reverend Paul C. and Verble

Lee Ward Manning. Patricia Delois Manning was the second eldest child of eleven

children. She began her ministry at age six and by age 13, Patricia was YPWW

secretary, a Sunday School and Bible Band teacher, and President of the District YWCC

and Jurisdictional Purity class under the leadership of Bishop H.J. Williams and Mother

Lena Lucas.

Patricia graduated as valedictorian of her senior class at Gardner High School in Strong,

Arkansas and later migrated to Detroit, Michigan at age 17. In the summer of 1969, she

married Brother Jerry Roach on June 21 st at East Grand Blvd COGIC, Home of Lady

Mae Blake's parents. To this loving union four children have been born. Sister Roach

accepted her call as missionary in 1975. Young Sister Roach continued her diligent work

in the church. As Junior Missionary she oversaw baskets and needs of the nursing

homes including washing and cleaning for the sick. Missionary Roach also worked for

Detroit Bank and Trust as a bank teller. When General Motors transferred Brother

Roach and family to Louisiana in 1981, Missionary Roach flourished in her local church.

She served as Administrative Assistant to her Pastor, Elder Willie Jones, Jr. In the

district, she taught Purity class and assisted the District Missionary as a member of the

program committee. Here she became a Licensed Missionary. She was appointed as

District Missionary of the Hollywood District in Louisiana First Jurisdiction under Bishop

Roy L.H. Winbush and Mother Leola Bryant. She served in several capacities such as

Jurisdictional Registrars and 2 nd Vice President of the Business and Professional

Women's Federation. Outside of the home, she continued in finance and accounting

with ARKLA Gas, where she took an early retirement in 1995. Missionary Roach

became a part of Texas Northeast Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in 1997 after the

family moved to Texarkana, Tx in 1996. She served under Bishop Frank Smith and

Bishop T.W. Johnson as one of the first Registrars, President of the Missionary Circle,

Program committees, District Missionary of Fellowship Outreach District, and Assistant

Supervisor to Mother Ophelia Evans. Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop Nelson J. Gatlin,

asked Asst. Supervisor Roach to serve as Jurisdictional Supervisor at the demise of

Mother Evans; where she continued to build on the legacy of her predecessor. In

September 2000, she became First Lady of Brotherly Love Outreach Ministries.

From humble beginnings to national acclaim, Supervisor Roach served as Adjutant

Sister and Special Helper to Mother Mary Jane Walton with the Executive Board

Breakfast. During the National Leadership Conference, Mother Roach was a presenter

in the Asst. Supervisor class. She also received recognition from the Women's Dept

under Mother Rivers and Mother McCoo-Louis.

Affectionately known as Ma, Pat, Aunt or Cousin Pat, Granny, Mama Roach, First Lady,

Mother Roach, Supervisor or simply Mrs. Roach, scores of people have come to know

her joyous smile, giving heart, anointing spirit, and love for doing the work of The Lord.

During her time in Louisiana, she began to organize chartered trips to and from The

International Women's Conventions across the country. In 1998, Mother Roach founded

ArkLaTex Women On A Mission to serve women and families in the local community

with food, clothing, utility help, rent assistance and more. She also worked with Domestic

Violence Prevention where she served as Shelter Manager for several years. She

always had something to give. Many have told how they have been blessed by her

services.

God chose to call Supervisor Roach into eternity on June 28, 2024. She is preceded in

death by her parents, Supt. Paul Manning and Verble Manning. Today, she leaves to

cherish her memory; her husband of 55 years, Elder Jerry Roach, three sons, Jerald,

Harold (Keasha), Quincy (Katrena) and one daughter, Patrina Roach, all of Texarkana,

TX, six brothers and four sisters, Bobby (Marida) Manning of Seattle, Washington;

Laretta Mason of Crossett, Arkansas; Alvin (Debra) Manning of Huttig, Arkansas; Marva

Wallace of Crossett, Arkansas; James (Laura) Manning of Huttig, Arkansas; Travis

Manning of Arkansas; Dale (Sharon) Manning of Marion, Louisiana; Vernell manning of

Monroe, Louisiana; Paul A. (Sonya) Manning of Strong, Arkansas and Tina Manning of

Monroe, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews,

godchildren, foster children, extended families and friends.
