Vernon Smith was born August 28, 1935 to the parentage of Curlee Smith Sr. and Mollie Brown Smith. Vernon attended school in the Mt. Moriah Community but did not complete his high school education because he had to work.He attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age. He also attended Greater St. James Church in Fort Worth, TX, where he resided for many years. He wasemployed at Alcon Laboratories for 15 years.Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Curlee Smith II, Melvin J. Smith, Clarence Smith, Ruby Williams, Jeweline Harper, and James Charles Harper; nephews: Clarence Smith, Gregory L. Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter Yolanda Tyson (Jack Richard), step-daughters Tracie King, and Dovie Tyson, all from Fort Worth, TX; siblings: Melverine Barkwell, Jimmie Smith (Patricia) of Fort Worth, TX, and Annette James of Daingerfield, TX; grandchildren: Krystal Tyson, Jeremy Tyson, Timothy Quarterman, Jasmine Nobles, Roshawn Quarterman, Jessica Nobles; Cherie, Damon, Max, and Antwone King; Latrice Dudley, Dontrail Tyson, and Kingston Johnson; great-grandson Kei'Andra Tyson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and special friends.
