William Clifford Baker, 80, of Pittsburg, Texas, peacefully passed away at home on the morning of October 22, 2025.
He was born on April 14, 1945 in Jackson, MI. He moved to Texas in the summer of 1969.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dolph and Gennis Baker and 3 brothers: Gaylen Baker, Ray Baker, and Danny Baker.
"Cliff" is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Baker, his son, James Baker (his wife Donna Baker), and a grandson, Jonah Baker, all of Pittsburg, TX. He's also survived by siblings who reside in Michigan: his twin sister, Rachel Young, brother Dean Baker, and sisters, Ann St. Charles and Kathy Baker. He also has Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews who reside in Michigan and in Texas.
"Cliff" retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in 2005 and honorably discharged from the Army in the 1960's.
He enjoyed NASCAR, traveling, football, camping, and enjoyed spending winters in South Texas at San Juan Gardens RV Park where he had many loving friends.
He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, where he enjoyed fellowship and serving as a greeter.
The family has chosen to cherish his memory and will continue to remember his jovial personality among themselves and with their friends. They have chosen not to have a memorial service at this time. They appreciate the prayers and support of their family, fellow church members, and friends.
